Heavy and extreme copper circuits from 3 oz/ft2 to 120 oz/ft2, selective plate-up for multiple copper heights on one board, and engineering design review that gets the product right the first time. Built in a 30,000 square-foot facility in Chaska, Minnesota, USA.
Pro-Tech is at the top of innovation for PCB heavy copper plating, developing heavy copper circuits with features of multiple copper heights on one board, alongside legacy products for computing, automotive, military, and industrial controls.

Pro-Tech specializes in heavy and extreme copper PCB production. Heavy copper circuits generally range from 3 oz/ft2 to 20 oz/ft2. Pro-Tech also manufactures extreme copper PCBs ranging from higher than 20 oz/ft2 and up to 120 oz/ft2.

UL approved for heavy copper, 5 oz inners, 6 oz. Specialty power products with selective plate extreme copper up to 100 mil+ on outer layer copper and 160 mil internal slug designs. Processes are managed to meet the demands of producing heavy copper PCBs: line width and spacing formation, solder mask coating thicknesses, and drilled-routed features.
Drag across Pro-Tech's published range. Heavy copper runs 3 oz/ft2 to 20 oz/ft2; anything above 20 oz/ft2 up to 120 oz/ft2 is extreme copper. The model is proportional, not to scale, and exists to frame your RFQ.
Pro-Tech maintains aerospace, military, and medical-grade certifications so procurement can audit the Chaska facility before the first board is quoted.
Pro-Tech's team works diligently with its customers to fully understand new product designs. New designs are reviewed by our Senior Research and Development Team in CAM Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and Sales Engineering teams to fully understand the manufacturing challenges. This allows detailed and timely communication back to the customer in the event there are any issues.
Pro-Tech's experience and comprehensive set of design rules lays the foundation for getting the product right the first time. Design review meetings are commonplace at Pro-Tech and viewed as a core competency to its business and customer service.

Incoming Gerber and drill data is reviewed against Pro-Tech's design rule set before tooling begins.

Copper thickness, coplanarity, sidewall formation, resin fill, and mask encapsulation requirements are locked to process.

Issues are communicated back to the customer in detail and on time, before they become scrap.

Cross-section and inspection documentation delivered under the AS9100D and ISO 13485:2016 quality system.
Pro-Tech is proud of its exceptional sales team. Known for being accessible and responsive, their thorough printed circuit board fabrication knowledge is available to help you get the best possible product and service.
Attach Gerber, ODB++, or fab drawings. Specify copper weight, layer count, and material. A sales engineer reviews every submission against Pro-Tech's design rules before pricing.
